I bring my extensive background as a business leader and program director, to my coaching role. I learned that no matter how many technology-transformation programs I found myself leading, and despite the wonder and innovative nature of the technology, it was always all about the people. Technology programs require people, and motivating and growing team members was the tough part. The technology was easy.
Once I realized this, I went back to pursue a second Masters in Psychology. A friend of mine who is an ace in Business Strategy suggested I investigate Executive Coaching, and I have never looked back. In coaching, II finally found the best of all worlds, one where I could combine my keen love of working with individuals and enhancing team performance, along with my psychology and business backgrounds.
What Doesn’t Excite me about Coaching
Nothing. Coaching is dynamic and creative, focused on creating positive forward momentum. Coaching has the possibility for helping others transform in truly remarkable ways, leveraging a client’s ingenuity, strengths, passions and competencies. I appreciate that the practice of coaching employs many different skill sets, tools and focal areas, including numerous assessments, approaches, modalities, delivery methods and audiences. These can be leveraged in a myriad of ways, enabling the coach to be endlessly imaginative in her approach to working with others.
What is unique about my coaching approach?
I bring a background in psychology, along with an in-depth knowledge of the corporate business world, specifically within the professional services arena, IT, and management consulting. I work with individuals one-on-one on an extensive variety of issues, including, but not limited to, professional development, performance improvement, emotional intelligence, and intentional development. My unique background also allows me to facilitate team and leadership development, thereby contributing to organizational and business success.
My husband and I share many interests together, including traveling, and we most always have 1, 2, or 3 trips planned at any given time. I enjoy spending time with my large family – all around the globe. I love entertaining with wonderful friends, and walking, biking or kayaking at the local lakes. Vinyasa yoga is one of my all-time favorites, and I am perpetually trying to teach myself piano. I have been known to pick up an easel at any given time, with a passion for the arts that I learned from my music-teacher mom, including theater and dance. I am always up for a great book or movie. And time with my son is the most precious.
